The Role
The best part of the experience was the development of my software skills. I helped contributing to major projects that were on and expanded my skills using autocad and revit. ANother highlight was was meeting new and interesting people who were always able to give me a helping hand along the way whenever I was in need of assistance.
There were many times throughout the six weeks where I felt valued by my colleagues this was given in verbal feedback from my boss and also informal feedback is given by other colleagues during the training period. I know that without my contributions completing the set tasks would have taken a little bit longer than it expected.
At the company I was given the support I needed throughout the time of my placement. I was always given guidance by senior members of staff who would push me in the right direction. Whenever I was stuck I was never afraid to approach anybody and ask for the help.
Throughout my placement I was extremely busy every day I was doing one of two projects back and forth and I never run out of work. When any type of work ceased to continue there was always something new popping up there and there hat I could get my hands on complete.
Throw my placement I was given quite a bit of responsibility. Things that I did would have been seen by customers and clients so everything I wouldn't have to be as accurate as possible. I can never too much freedom in the work-related but I always had a sense of responsibility.
From my skills using various pieces of software have expanded greatly. Within the first week I completed various training videos and read up on regulations that would help me throw continuing six weeks. There were various topics that hide covered in University which were brought up during my placement and there's definitely things that my placement has help me with in University
The Company
Everybody in the office was friendly and kind and always will wear able to give me a helping hand. The office was lively people were chatting doing work it was a very relaxed but still quite formal environment which I really enjoyed. The atmosphere allowed you to relax but also get work done inefficient manner.
The pleasure was organised very well I was had support, I awlays help and I always had work to do. I did hear of other placements who didn't have quite the sinks periods but for myself it was pretty seamless. One thing I would recommend are weekly meetings with supervisor.
As I was only there for six weeks they didn't invest too much into me. However they did give me a vast knowledge and words of advice on what to do for my next stages of personal training and development. This was been suggested my chartership for my engineering creates.
The organisation is very appealing for future employment. Arup Endorses travelling and further development would you submit is very important myself. The company pushes you to achieve higher and puts in the mindset to never be settled for what you have. I would definitely like to return to Arup as a graduate.
The Culture
Every month the company held a social where everybody from different backgrounds and different departments would come together and socialise. I went to one of these socialising friends and it was really good experience I had recommended. There was also a summer forum party which was extremely enjoyable and very nice to see people there.

.The company has various activities going on outside of working hours. It was running club cycling clubs and various other clubs running outside working hours. There was also the social side which I mentioned earlier which was very good it only happens a few times a month but it's definitely worthwhile going.
