The Role
I absolutely loved it - I felt as though I really added value to the team, and also had amazing firm-wide opportunities too. It is a great place to work with great people and a great culture. Everybody is very good at their job but also cares hugely about the people they work with.
Enormously. I was supported a lot in terms of training and ensuring I had the necessary skills, but also had a strong support network too, on whom I could rely for advice. There were also a number of team and intern socials so it was easy to get to know various people in a social capacity too.
There was an enormous amount of support. I was in constant contact with my manager and they were incredibly supportive of what I wanted to do in every way. Whether it was work on specific projects or get to meet other people and teams, I was always supported by my manager.
Day to day varied a lot. Whilst at the start (as I was finding my feet) some days were slightly quieter, by the end of the internship I was very busy and had a lot to be getting on with. That said, I never felt overwhelmed by the work or tasks assigned to me.
I loved how much responsibility I was given. Even right from the offset, I was making independent decisions on various matters, in the same way a full-time permanent employee would be. I could also see the impact my decisions had and I became more confident with them throughout the internship.
I see a parallel between what I study and what I was doing in my internship. The main take-away will certainly be the non-specific skills such as attention to detail, hard work, and analytical skills rather than subject specific knowledge. That said, there is some subject-specific knowledge I will also use in my studies.
The Company
The atmosphere was really great. It was clear that the team I worked in were clearly friends as well as work colleagues, and also how much this helped them work together. We had breakfast and lunch together as a team every day, and the atmosphere therefore was supportive and collaborative.
Campus Recruitment did a fantastic job of providing a well-balanced and thought-out 10 weeks. From learning sessions with senior people to socials and everything in between, there were plenty of opportunities and it was always clear what was happening, when and why. They also put the right sessions at the right stage of the internship
Every week, we had a lunch and learn with a senior member of the firm - this helped enormously in terms of being able to seek career advice as well as perform my own role better. We also had a number of e-learning modules which were helpful, in addition to informal training from colleagues

Incredibly appealing. I was made an offer to return on the graduate scheme. Because of how much I enjoyed the 10 weeks and how much I loved the company culture, and its people I will certainly be accepting this offer. This is a firm I'd certainly recommend to others too
The Culture
I got on with my fellow interns very well I think, and generally I believe genuine friendships were formed for many people. There were socials organised for us, and we met up separately too. We also had informal socials with people on the graduate scheme in the few years above us
London is of course more expensive than most places in the UK, and I definitely noticed the price difference when socialising. Drinks were noticeably more expensive, but eating at chain restaurants didn't seem to be much more expensive. Living costs were manageable but not great - however this is fairly unavoidable.
I really enjoyed socialising with people in various places after work and found this enjoyable in local venues. There were plenty of bars and clubs near me, as well as theatres/cinemas etc. Colleagues were also happy to provide recommendations and I found some great places that I'd love to go back to
There were plenty of opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work, both within the company and externally. I was able to play in a number of gigs externally whilst working, and internally became involved with the firm's symphony orchestra as well. There were numerous sports opportunities too
