The Role
I had an extremely positive experience during my summer internship. I had a really great team, a brilliant manager and had many opportunities to network throughout the internship.
Was in a team of four, and I got in super well with all of them.
Had great on the job training as well as regular feed back sessions
I was given a lot of daily jobs, while I also worked on a couple of ad-hoc projects. I never had to stay late to finish my jobs, but I was never bored either!
I had a technical role where I learned a lot about derivatives and currencies which was really great exposure. I also developed a good knowledge around trade life cycles, market making, the accounting for trading and risk reporting. The soft skills were just as important with my role, I was constantly communicating with other team members, technology, front, middle and back office
The Company
It is a very flat structure at JP Morgan, you can approach anyone at any level for a chat (and you are encouraged to do so). It is also great being part of a big internship program where you can make lots of new friends!
The program was extremely well organised from the very first to the very last day. We had many networking sessions, informational talks, social events and training days. Campus recruitment do an amazing job at organizing this program, it's no wonder its so competitive!!
Mostly you learn stuff on the job. However, you get additional excel training as well as information sessions where you learn about other areas of the bank which helps you understand your job better

The grad scheme at JP Morgan is really great. For F& BM, you rotate between three different divisions over three years, as well as doing professional exams. I am really looking forward to joining back.
The Culture
I've made some really good friends on the program! We have many social events organised throughout the 10 weeks which help you to get to know everybody very well!
