The Role
At the beggining of the internship, everything was a bit overwhelming. After I started understanding how the company works and its people, values and the vision of the future that they hold, it has been a pleasure to work with them. It was an engaging, exciting and memorable experience that set the base to a great carrer. I'm really happy that my carrer started with them.
Throught the summer, there was not a single moment when I felt that I am not appreciated or valued by my coworkers. Even if I was new and I did not know that much, they valued my oppinions and my ideas.I have alwyas felt well respected and it did not take much to feel like a member of the team. I will miss a lot of people that I worked with this summer.
The company makes sure that there is always someone there in case of anything. My manager was a good guide and everyone around me was able to offer support at any point. Apart from the people, there are different system available to help. You can turn any person that you meet in the company in a mentor.
The balance was quite good, I was always being kept busy by what I was working on and if my project was stalling, I could always help my team with any other tasks. I believe this is based on an individual and how he can divide his work properly, but the company kept me busy and at the same time I did not feel overwhelmed by deadlines.
I was given responsability and what I was working on did have an impact. I do not feel like I was in the spotlight, but for an intern I was given a well balanced amount of responsability. The level of reponsability and the way you work is quite important in this company and it is up to the individual to show those skills.
The whole experience was very good learning material. I got to improve my programming skills and my soft skills by a lot. I believe that the majority of things that I have been exposed to and work with this summer will stay with me for a while. It was a great insight into how a big corporation works.
The Company
The atmosphere was well balanced. It is quiet enough to ensure that you work in an efficient manner but you can take breaks whenever you like and go have a laugh for 5 minutes. I felt really comfortable being there; as for any job, it gets boring at times, but quite rarely in this case.
The internship was very well organized. The events that they provided for interns were really nice. I believe they put a lot of effort into making sure that the interns are having the best experience. The venues were properly selected for the events. I always knew what will happen next.
Personal training was provided and they made sure you are fully aware of your responsabilities as well as benefits and eligibilities. In the field of computing science, it is important to work with people and learn from experienced individuals, which I did. I have learned the most by working with professionals.

Based on your career aspirations in the field of computing science, I believe its a perfect place if you would like to work in fintech. It might not be as enjoyable if you are interested into other fields of programming. It is a good place to be if you would like to combine your technical and soft skills and if you would like to learn about this area.
The Culture
I have made so many friends and connections this summer. It was really nice to get to meet and spend time with other interns. The company made sure that there are events where we can socialise and get to know each other and that is not only about working 9-5, but having some fun sometimes as well.
I have spent most of my time in the city centre of Glasgow, and it is quite nice. It is not as expensive as other big cities from UK, but depending on the venue, it might leave your pockets empty. There are a lot of great places where you can grab lunch from.
Nightlife was amazing. I have had a lot of fun with my friends and we visited a lot of venues. I have been impressed by the nightlife in Glasgow to be honest. A lot of good places and people seem super nice. The company location is well placed and you can always grab a couple of drinks after work if you feel like it.
There are groups of people with same interests. You can always get in touch with people and go to events that are interesting to you. Starting with programming and ending with dancing club, you can find people like you. If you feel like helping or volunteering, the company has some good opportunities.
