The Role
I really enjoyed my internship. There was the perfect amount of everything; workload, projects, socials and talks. Everyone at the bank me feel very comfortable and was willing to answer any questions that I had no matter what. Current graduates were very easy to approach to shadow and were all happy to do so.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. They knew that I came in not knowing too much but guided me along the way to find out everything I wanted to know. I felt valued also by the work I was given. I was given real tasks that they normally carry out themselves so in that respect I felt a level of responsibility.
I was given a lot. Any manager or colleague was more than happy to sit and talk to me regarding whatever it was that I wanted to talk about whether they were Executive Directors or graduates. They were very keen to give guidance and help.
I had the correct amount of work. I was kept busy in the mornings by my daily tasks but then was more free in the afternoons. This was good for me as it gave me the opportunity to shadow other interns and colleagues in different areas along with time to work on my projects and presentations.
I was given a good amount of responsibility. I was running daily tasks that were normally done by the team. It is crucial that these are correct on a daily basis so being able to produce these was a big responsibility.
The skills I learnt may not all assist my degree studies as much of what I study is not relevant t banking but it will all definitely help with my career going forward.
The Company
Very good, everyone was friendly.
This has definitely made me want to work at J.P. Morgan in the future. Really enjoyed the values and environment within the firm.
