The Role
I had such a fantastic summer and I learned so much during my time at J.P. Morgan.
My colleagues were helpful and always had time to teach me and allowed me to learn from them. They made sure that I felt like part of the team. The culture at J.P. Morgan is fantastic.
My manager was there when I needed her and always helpful and willing to sit down with me and help me.
I was busy, although some days were less full on, which was good too. There was a good balance.
I felt like I was given a lot of responsibility and that the work I was doing was valuable and meaningful to my team. I had a project and helped the team with any tasks they needed help with.
I learned a lot about excel (which is so useful). I learned a lot about internal systems and products and generally how the financial institutions operate. This is extremely useful in my studies and going forward into my job.
The Company
The team and floor was great. I felt right at home with them. I would go to work in the morning and know that the people I work with are supportive, happy to have me there and people I can turn to when I needed them.
It was an amazing internship and we learned so much through the information sessions and networking events set up by the Campus Recruitment team.
I really learned so much and all the extra training sessions, information sessions and shadowing sessions were really amazing and all of the employees helped and took time to teach us more about the daily operations, their management information systems and the way they achieve their goals.
Company Parties/Events
I am really excited to be part of the JPM team. It was such an honour to be part of their summer staff and I'm excited to be on their grad scheme. I also look forward to CIMA.
The Culture
The interns were all close. We had lunch and dinner together and got to know each other really well, which was so nice since it made it even nicer to go to work. It's good to know that when I go back next year, there are a handful of people who will be starting with me that I'm already comfortable around.
It's London so it's expensive and Canary Wharf is also expensive. However, when you find the right places, the cost of socialising and living aren't extortionate and you receive a good salary to cover those costs.
City Centre is more hip and happening but right after work, Canary Wharf restaurants are buzzing with people in suits grabbing dinner after work. I think that's great.
There are great groups to get involved in (almost like societies), it's a fantastic place to meet people outside of your line of business which is fantastic.
