About You
The Danone insights placement was informative, useful and well structured. It was very enjoyable meeting fellow brand ambassadors as well as staff from the company who were working there either on placement or on graduate schemes. I got the most enjoyment out of the insights section within which I found out more about my work styles and preferences.
Being invited to the Danone head offices in Chiswick in the first place gave me the impression that I as well as my role was being valued by the company. I was well looked after with transport costs, accommodation and food costs covered. Generally, I got a sense that Danone valued my opinions and ideas as a brand ambassador.
At every stage of the process, I was provided with guidance and support. Before the event, I was provided with contacts who I was able to call or email with any questions I had. Day by day during the programme there were constantly people there making themselves available to answer questions.
The insights discovery programme, in particular, has helped me to learn more about how I think and act in the workplace, and this will no doubt go on to help me in my degree and future career. I also developed organisational skills through the planning I took part in within my university team.
The Company
Almost faultless- I went to the scheme not knowing what to expect and if it would be a well-structured programme. I was however pleasantly surprised to find out that at every step there was an aim being fulfilled. We finished a little early on the last two days which suggested perhaps we didn't need as much time as was suggested, however at no point did the programme fell unstructured.
Fantastic, which I feel is a reflection on the company as a whole, having spoken to various Danone employees throughout the programme. Everyone seemed to generally enjoy their job and being at the company. This reflected on the group who were there for the programme, with everyone appearing to enjoy a positive atmosphere.
I believe financially they took my training and development very seriously i.e. investing in the insights programme so I could learn more about my work style etc. Plenty of different employees to time out of their work schedules to run sessions or talk to the group and this gave me the impression they invested in me to a good extent.
I think this was one of their main aims of the programme. We were constantly encouraged to talk to staff at the company and at several times we were informed about the graduate scheme as well as placement years offered. I now have an in-depth understanding of what working at the company would entail.
To a great extent. We learned about how teams within the company work together. Also, we learned about how staff members are expected to act and the advantages of working at the company. Having a tour of the offices there as well as regular talks with staff gave me a good idea of the company culture.
Danone gave me insight into what working at an FMCG would be like. This has certainly made me want to look into careers in the industry. Obviously, it wasn't able to provide me with information on careers at different companies or in different industries but it fulfilled it purpose here.
Everything Else
Everyone at the company was approachable and gave me the impression I could have approached them to ask them questions about the company. There were also regular points on the schedule aimed at providing the group with networking opportunities as well as meeting employees who worked in different roles at the company.
Yes. In the networking opportunities, we were regularly informed about different activities. One that stood out was the Danone World Cup, where staff members are able to play football and if successful, can travel the world to play in against teams from other branches of the company. There are also plenty of activities that can be taken part in throughout the business park.
Absolutely, and I will do. I took a lot from the programme. I would sell this insight programme to a friend as a chance to get to know the company and to learn what it would be like to work at Danone. Also as an opportunity to meet and get to know new people.
