The Role
It was great fun. I think the part I enjoyed most was meeting people at PwC. I can honestly say that every person I met during my internship was both friendly and helpful, and that corporate culture has made a really good impression on me.
Very much so. Fellow interns were great to talk to about concerns at work or for getting ideas on how to benefit from the internship.
Senior members of staff in general were very much concerned about our well-being. Just that I think they were often either at the client site or too busy in general to handle coaching, and so I did feel bad approaching them with extra work at times. When I did the support and guidance I received was great.
I think this was quite flexible, which was good. If I wanted more work I was always able to ask people for more, whether it was from my project or from my buddy/other interns.
I was really impressed by this, from day one I had to handle work which was going to be seen directly by the client, and I didn't expect that. It made me want to produce the best results I could, and was also a great challenge to face.
To be honest I'm not sure if the internship has given me skills to help with my degree work. However, outside degree studies, my experience at PwC has definitely helped me develop a business mind, and I've been able to utilise this in internships with NGOs and on other occasions too.
The Company
The atmoshphere was great, people were very friendly and supportive but were able to remain professional as well.
I think sometimes the organisation could have been better. There seemed to be quite a few IT related issues with intern PCs.
The training programme helped a lot with presentation skills, and in general the senior members of staff were very keen on assisting in my development. I think it would have been great if there were some seminars or courses introducing various aspects of consulting.
I really enjoyed the culture they have at PwC. I think it is possibly one of the best corporate learning environments there is. For that reason future employment prospects with them are indeed appealing.
The Culture
This was one of the highlights of the internship. I enjoyed meeting the other interns who were friendy, interesting and supportive. It was great to get to know them.
Socialising in the South Bank areas was quite expensive.
I didn't really go out in the area that I worked in. There were plenty of social in other locations to keep me happy.
We interns organised enough fun for ourselves. The buddy system they had at PwC also helped, I was able to go for drinks with associates who were only slightly older than me, and thus able to share their more recent experiences of joining the company.
