The Role
Working at j.p. Morgan chase was an incredible opportunity that allowed me to expand my knowledge about working in a fast paced environment where quality is a top priority. The skills I obtained would be irreplaceable in my professional career. I believe I would enjoy returning to the company as my experience working in it was amazing.
At the beginning the team was reluctant to trust our ideas, but they always listened to our ideas and gave us valuable feedback. It didn’t take us long to prove ourselves as a valuable part of the team and after that we felt even more relaxed to express our ideas.
I was lucky to work in a team where everyone was friendly and helpful. Whenever I faced a challenge there was always someone to turn to for help. They gave us sufficient examples and materials from which to expand our knowledge. The fact that they didn’t give us the solutions, but made us figure them out on our onw is what allowed us to properly understand the texhnologies we were using
As we were working in a team that needed to communicate with multiple other teams that required a 100% uptime on the services we provided the work was a lot and we were constantly busy, but this helped us improve our abilitiy to prioritise our work and focus on a single problem.
From the very start we were given full access to the systems and we quickly learned that our actions may have unforseen consequences. This was one of the things that made us better developers as we needed to provide full coverage of our work as if it failed it would impact other people.
As we had to work in an environment that none of us had had any experience before, we had to learn a lot of skills in a short period of time. This was an great opportunity as it expanded our knowledge and we could view the systems we have from a different angle
The Company
The atmosphere was friendly and dynamic. We were communicating with multiple other teams and managed to get to know them and make a work relationship with most. Furthermore there were game nights where people from the office could network with the rest of the people working there. This peoved invaluable as it helped us to not feel so scared of the senior staff.
The internsip was extremely well organised and our manager did a remarkable job making sure we have all the necessary exposure in front of our colleagues so that when the time came we would have all the necessary connections to facilitate our work as fast as possible. Also we had team meetings each day that furthered our relationship with the rest of the team in Geneva
As neither the other interns nor i had any previous experience working with the technologies our team used, we had a steap learning curve at the begging, but we also had to continue our training and read many papers to be able to stay on too of things. This experience was great for personal improvement as it allowed me to expand my trchnologilac skills.

I would love to work for J.P. Morgan Chase as it would allow me to work with other experienced professionals and learn from them. I am certain that the skills i would be able to obtain would be extremely useful in the long run, as even the brief period i worked in the company I learned to see problems from a completely new angle
The Culture
As i have been living in Glasgow for the past four years it wasn’t a problem for me as i had an apartment. The salary did manage to meet the living standards and the reallocation bonus at the beginning of the internship allowed me not to worry anout my social standing.
