The Role
Really enjoyed my internship in Bloomberg. Lots of learning opportunities and challenges, something I really liked.
Very much so. I was in BI (equity research division), was given substantial amounts of autonomy when initiating coverage on a new company.
My supervisor was extremely supportive, and was available whenever I reached out for help. Very patient in imparting knowledge to me.
Since it was a research function, the working hours aren't as structured and fixed. The busyness really depends on how well you managed your time.
Lots. Initiating coverage on a company (almost full autonomy), and even led a coverage call with company management.
Developed a variety of soft and hard skills. Very useful.
The Company
Depends on the time of the year. Since it was research, during seasons analysts and associates tended to be a bit more tense.
Very well done. Had exposure to bottom up, fundamental research as well as some top-down macro research with indices.
Lots of training around equity research and terminal training. An extensive list of in-house training resources/videos.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Appealing. Lots of perks, great people and a good culture that is grounded in supporting and developing talent.
The Culture
Yes, people were social. Company also facilitated it via the events hosted.
I study in London, so I was used to the day to day expenses.
It's good. Though I am not particular into Nightlife stuff.
Absolutely! HR really encouraged us to be involved in Bloomberg-sponsored volunteering events called BOB. Did 3 of them in 10 weeks (was going to much more, but had to cancel due to taking time off etc.)
