About You
The insight was generally interesting and educational. The most exciting part was when we received the personal profile which was very detailed and worth reflecting on it. People were very nice and all CBMs had the possibility to talk with current employees in order to understand the way they work at Danone.
The personal profile that the staff gave us during the second day made me feel extremely valued by the company because they considered us as individuals with strenghts and weaknesses. Also, the fact that all expenses during the Insight Week will be covered shows that we play an important role for the company.
The staff used powerpoint slides to explain us what they expect from us and what we need to do throughtout the academic year. The staff was open to different kind of ideas in order to promote the brand. They also invited previous CBMs to tell us their experience, just to give us an idea.
The knowledge and the experiences that I gained during the insight week will provide me greater chance to be recruited for the graduate scheme or for any other vacancy at Danone. The role as a Campus Brand Manager will also represent a significant experience worth including in my CV for future job applications.
The Company
The insight was quite well structured. We received the plan via email a few days before so that we can have an idea about what we will be doing. We had 5-7 hours at the office and it wasn’t stressful because we had breaks. The most important events were arranged in the morning. Some of the sessions ended earlier than expected.
We were immersed in a relaxing atmosphere where people showed enthusiasm about their own ideas and those of others. The nice staff managed to make us feel at ease from the first day. The park surrounding the building and the great view that we could see from the office also contributed to create the pleasant atmosphere.
The purpose of the insight was to inform us about what we have to do as CBMs and about the possibilities that we can have after we graduate. I personally did not develop any particular skills but rather gained a wider knowledge of the company.
We had the possibility to speak to current employees about their full time roles and ask them questions about their day-to-day work life. It helped me a lot to understand how I would be like as a graduate at Danone. It has also been a pleasure to hear how much they enjoy working at Danone.
I suppose all CBMs had a quite good understanding of the company culture bedore coming to the event. However, during the insight we could also explore the working environment and the way they interact with each other, which cannot be seen simply by searching on the company website. These gave me a more complete view of the company.
The insight has motivated me even more to work in a FMCG company. I realised how much the company culture suits me and would definitely take the opportunity to apply for their graduate scheme.
Everything Else
The insight Week is about three days and all expenses including accommodation, food and transport will be reimbursed. Although we did not get paid, we received Lifestyle vouchers for coming to the event.
Meeting other employees has been one of the most interesting part of the insight. Different groups of them had to present us different brands of the company and after that we could freely ask them questions about what they are passionate about while working at Danone. Most of them were doing a placement or a graduate scheme therefore they could give us valuable advices on our future career at Danone.
There were quite a few social opportunities, especially for those staying at the hotel provided by the company. We could have dinner out together every day so that we can know each other better. Unfortunately, those living in London had to leave earlier but we still managed to have a drink together near the office.
Current employees speaking about the benefits of working at Danone has been extremely useful for me in terms of deciding whether the company suits or not. They told us about volunteering experiences abroad, social activities that can improve their ability to work in a team and also mentioned some massage opportunities, which quite impressed me.
I would highly recommend this insight at Danone to a friend because it can represent a good start for a career. I had a really great time and now I am ready to put my Brand Manager ideas into practice.
