The Role
It was a very valuable experience. I learnt a lot about the firm, their clients, their employees and the nature of their work.
Everyone who caught sight of me made an effort to acknowledge me or get to know me. If I asked to help someone, they gave me something worthwhile to do. I was invited to meetings etc.
The graduate recruitment team really looked out for my wellbeing. My supervisor was fantastic. I felt she really wanted me to do well on the placement and went out of her way to help me and to teach me.
I was busy, to an extent that was realistic for working in a law firm. I was never bored.
I was given tasks to complete on my own and I was frequently required to send these to a Partner- I would say I had a reasonable level of responsibility given the nature of the work and my lackof legal expertise.
I learnt a lot not only about law but about the corporate world- life in a big office environment etc. A very valuable experience.
The Company
It was a very sociable, cheery place.
They really were very organised.
They spent a large amount of time trying to make us understand the ethos of the firm and the nature of their clients- in the hope that we would one day work for them. I felt like the firm really wanted me which was a nice thing to feel.
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I was really hoping for a job with this firm once I finished my placement.
The Culture
They are still friends now.
