The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my ten weeks at the company. I met so many intelligent and lovely people who really enhanced the experience for me. The company also arranged numerous events for all of the interns to get involved in. The company made me feel very welcome coming in as an intern eager to learn.
During my internship, I felt extremely valued by my colleagues. They treated me as if I was a normal employee and were very friendly and easy to talk to. They welcomed me into the team with open arms. The team is relatively big which made it quite difficult to work closely with every team member. This meant that I was unable to form a close bond with everyone.
I was very impressed by how much help and support I received from my mentor. Whenever I had a query or a problem, he was always there to resolve the issue. It felt as if he knew everything. Every time I had ideas regarding the project, he offered his advice and point of view to insure that I was successful.
At the beginning of the internship, I was in training and this meant that I was not as immersed into my work as I could have been. As the internship progressed, I was able to become more active and do real work. The projects I worked on were my sole focus and they occupied me throughout the rest of the ten weeks.
Coming into the internship, I was surprised at how much responsibility I was given as an intern. This included receiving the opportunity to speak live with clients. I also had a lot of responsibility when it came to project management. I was able to lead the projects I was working on and was trusted with the development of the project.
I was able to develop my skill set throughout the internship which was a key goal for me. That being said, the skills I did develop are not as directly correlated to my studies. On the other hand, they seem to be very applicable to the career path I currently wish to pursue.
The Company
As the company have recently moved to a new office, I can say that the office space looks aesthetically pleasing. As such, it made the atmosphere feel like a comfortable place to be in. There is always something going on every day and a lot for the employees to do on a regular basis.
The internship was run extremely well and I was impressed with how everything panned out. I did experience a few issues with my account but that was solely due to the fact that I have previously been at the company. The events hosted for us were very good and allowed us to get a better understanding of the business.
The company invests a lot into its employees. I have worked at a few other organisations and none like this one, treats its employees this well. There are various courses and training sessions available and employees are welcome to sign up to anything. I was able to take part in a programming course which helped my development.

Company Parties/Events
This is my second time working at the company and I now know that I want to work there permanently in the future. As such it is very appealing to me of course and this internship experience has confirmed this for me. I have now even become a campus ambassador where I will be advertising the prospects within the organisation.
The Culture
There is a very good social scene amongst fellow colleagues. The company offers a lot of sports clubs to get involved in where you can meet loads of other people in the company. They also hosted a lot of intern events where we could get to know and meet other interns.
As the company is located in central London, one of the most expensive places in the city, it was expected that the cost of living and socialising was going to be relatively high. It is certainly more than what I am used to and I don't think it would be plausible living in the area as it would be too expensive for my liking.
I did not go out in the area I was working so I do not think I am in a position to talk about the nightlife. Having saying that, I did go out for team drinks and to watch the World cup with the team. There are a large variety of bars, pubs and restaurants in the area.
There a large number of sports clubs which the company sponsor for employees to get involved in. This ranges from football to basketball to tennis. The company are also very active in the philanthropic world and because of this, employees are able to get involved in charitable events outside of work.
