The Role
Overall, I am really satisfied with my 10 weeks Summer internship at J.P. Morgan in the Investment Banking Division. I've enjoyed working with a professional and dedicated team who gave me the opportunity to be integrated in every aspect of the job. I've gained real insight into the area, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the key challenges thanks to a strong exposure to the project of the team.
I felt valued by my colleagues as they were treating me as a full time analyst, while I was intern for 10 weeks. They have taken me on board on their project since day 1 and they offered me real responsibilities on these project. They also made themselves available to train me when needed and explain the key aspects of the job.
My management took time to give me a briefing each time before joining a new project. They were explaining me the overall context, the key stakeholders, our role as advisor, and my expected responsibilities on the project. Plus, my supervisors gave me constant feedback to help me improve my performance all over the programme.
Due to the nature of the Investment Banking sector, I was quite busy and some days can last until late night. However, I was aware of the busy schedule before joining and I had the motivation to work long hours. The positive aspect of the job is that you never get bored and you get to develop very different skills and knowledge every day.
