The Role
The placement scheme is amazing, it allows you to get a good experience of the office culture while also giving you freedom to work on any projects you feel interest you. The people are friendly and always to help whenever you get stuck.
Bosch makes each of us feel very valued. Not only do we get a good amount of responsibility but colleagues are polite and always appreciate your help. Managers are also very thankful when they know I've been working hard.
There is plenty of support. Not only is there a handover period with your predecessor who is able to give you the best tips and tricks, you also get strong support from your manager in terms on how to be effective in your role.
At the start (the first month) I was not busy at all, most days I would have to ask for work. But after the first month (once people have got to known you), you can find yourself being very busy on a daily basis. You can have some days which are very busy and other that aren't busy at all, it just depends on the types of projects you take on and how many you take on at the same time
A lot! Bosch puts a lot of responsibility on its student interns but its easy to see why. You get the same treatment as normal employees whether that's through training or appraisals, you will be treated like a normal employee because in their eyes, you are one.
My communication skills have increased massively I'm always communicating to different parts of the organization or even communicating to external people. It's a great way to improve your skills to benefit you in the future.
The Company
Friendly, warm and welcoming. People are really nice and friendly and often have a little chat as they're walking by. There pods in the center of the office to allow people to go work in small groups or by themselves. People often go for breakfast in the morning at the canteen or stop for coffee breaks together.
Very organised. There's a clear plan of what is expected of you and you are given the ability to take on any project you would like to do. Doesn't matter what department you're in, you're able to get a good feel for what the other teams work is like.
There are regular training courses which are mandatory for all interns to take. Although they sound boring, they are no doubt the best days here. You get good training to understand the company better but also get training to help develop core skills and extend your abilities.

Very appealing. I would love to come back here as the company culture is amazing and the people here are very friendly.
The Culture
Yes, as there is a group chat for all interns its easy to get to know new people, however it does depend on the type of person you are as you have to be able to socialise with others. But in terms of my year there was many house parties and event nights for us.
The cost of living isn't too much, rent is usually around 500 or 6-700 for a ensuite room/ studio flat. As for the actual cost of living it's pretty much the same as anywhere else as there are supermarkets everywhere so not too expensive.
In Denham there is nothing. However, all the students live in/near Uxbridge which is pretty nice. The club is okay but most people prefer bars and pubs as they are great places to chill out and have a couple of drinks.
Yes, there's football pitches rented on a weekly basis, people also organise badminton on wednesdays, Pilates classes are also given once a week.
