The Role
I enjoyed my 10 weeks at JP Morgan and it was a great opportunity to learn and develop key skills. People I met are supportive, friendly, always willing to teach and share their experiences.
The team provides instant feedback and makes me feel as a part of the team.
There were lots of feedback sessions from management and I am always clear on what I did well and what I need to do to improve. As long as I asked, the team always answers my questions and provides guidance.
Given that there are lots of unforeseen tasks everyday, I was really busy and time management is key.
Depends on the task. Some of the tasks are on an ad-hoc basis while some contribute to their daily work.
Effective communication and time management are life-time skills that are beneficial for me. Technical skills: Excel and modelling.
The Company
People were generally very friendly and supportive. They are always wiling to speak to interns even though we might be in different teams.
There were a lot of events planned for us to meet employees from different departments.
There was a week of training before the internship started and that provided an in-depth learning experience on Excel which was further developed during the internship.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Very appealing. Working at such a big investment bank and learning from smart individuals is a great career starting point.
The Culture
There were three big socials for interns all across London.
London is obviously an expensive city to live in but still reasonable.
Not too sure, didn't really have time for nightlife given the workload.
There were lots of sports club and societies to join. Corporate responsibility day also gave us the opportunity to be involved with community service.
