    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was such an amazing experience which couldn't be compared to anything else. I've learned so much that I didin't expect. At the end of this placement any student will be able to say that their confidence level increased same as other skills, such as accounting, marketing, problem solving, communication, operational and sales skills and many more!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It's crazy how close you become when you work with people 10 hours a day. Every employee in Enterprise will be able to admit that the best part of it is people. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming so it's definitely fun and friendly environment to work in. The best part is that there is no barriers between managers and staff, everyone is on the same level, because the most important thing is a team!

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • From the very first day I was expected to overcome my fears and do things which I have never done which I think was great because I've learned so many things, however management like I said before they become your friends so there is no barriers and they supported and motivated me all the way through. What is the best that if you are doing great, either it is sales, or customer servive not only your own branch mamager will spot this, but also senior managers will send you an email or give some bonuses for doing well! Which is fantastic.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Enterprise Rent a Car is massive Global company so expect it mot to be busy it would be inappropriate. However, there were many days where we were incredibly busy and there where some days where you could just chill out for a little bit and have branch lunch all together without being in a rush. I think it depends how you going to look at it and also depends in which branch you work.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • That's why this is the best placement which I could recommend to anyone who is eager to learn and become the best version of themselves. Like I said before you are being treated as an employee so management expects you to do everything what all the rest employees do. In many cases you will be runing the business by yourself and have the same power as Assistant Manager because they want you to learn and progress quickly. And the best way to learn is by doing it.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think I have developed not only the skills but also developed as a person. I was never lacking of confidence but I've got it even more now! I think my attitude and believing in myself also has changed when I realized of how much I am capable to learn and do stuff. But yes definitely skills for life! Best work experience ever.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It's hard to explain. Worth seeong it! Always fun when you surrounded by the most funniest and craziest people! Seriously the friendliness and fun side of this job was the best! Ofcourse there are some days when people are in a bad mood but that's just life and stars can't shine without the dark.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very organized as whole placement is like a journey to be promoted. So basicaly there are 4 stages which you have to pass in order to go to the next stage. A management trainee has to create a portofolio of all his achievements and evidence of what she/he has done during the year so that they could go to the final MQI stage and be promoted to become A management assistant with eligibility to apply for Assistant Managers position.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As I mentioned before there are 4 stages and there are 3 training sessions. So each section is different and head of the departmets teach you different things in business, such as accounting, marketing, risk and etc. Also there are many competitions going on all the time with awards so I think company invest a lot of time and money into future managers.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It's no doubt that if you done well during your placement you will be excepted and they will offer a job for you. What's the best is that you can be promoted even within a placement year. So you don't have to wait! The quicker you prove it that you deserve this - the better.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes it was great! It is always much more fun to work with same age people because it feels that you are just hanging out with your friends and still get paid.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I think it is reasonably cheap comparing it with south. I think Huddersfield is one of the cheapiest places to live in.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I am not a party animal so I haven't tried all night clubs but I would say so that it is ok. It has quite few clubs to offer so I assume as long as you have a choice it's alright.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are always opportunities to get involved in sports or other activities but after a long day at work there is not much time left to do anything apart resting and preparing for another day. But that probably depends on every person because we are all different in many ways.
