The Role
For somebody that is looking to get into software engineering, this was a great place to gain experience.
The employees are all very friendly and accommodating, and give a real sense of community.
Any help needed was given, they make sure that you're learning properly instead of just carrying out instructions.
The task given was broad enough to have a consistent goal throughout.
The task was primarily for me, and my mentor would only jump in if needed.
Wasn't relevant at all for A-Level studies and I would guess it wouldn't be useful for degrees. However, for a career the skills gained are very valuable.
The Company
Friendly and accommodating.
A task was decided before I arrived, and had already had some thought put into it by the rest of my team.
A significant amount of time was set aside to ensure that I was learning things properly.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Working from home
A returning internship may be offered, or a job interview if appropriate.
The Culture
A week is set aside specifically for interns
Reasonable place to eat out. Company housing is cheap, from what I heard.
Not applicable for me.
A lot of after-work drinks. Didn't participate in any activities apart from that.
