    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed it. Renault UK was great with not only giving me responsibility but also understood my needs as a student and helped me grow as an individual. I was repeatedly given help whenever needed, not only for my work but also when I had other problems during placement as well.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was extremely valued at Renault UK, it was an extremely diverse culture with people of all ages and backgrounds. It was a very inclusive culture and I felt at home during my time there. People were always looking out for one and other, and were never afraid to offer help if needed.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager understood my needs to a great extent. My work team along with HR seemed very experienced in handling placement students and would had all my needs taken care of during my entire tenure at Renault UK, right from my handover period all the way up to handling board meetings every quarter.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • While Renault trusted me with lots of responsibility and the company did experience its crest and troughs, they were also very mindful of a work life balance and would make sure work never got in the way of my mental health. I was always busy with things to do, things I deeply enjoyed.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given plenty of responsibility. I worked on two very large scale projects, the out comes of which are visible even today. They were very tangible in nature and I can witness the direct impact I had in company and the market together. The trust given to a placement student was almost hard to believe initially.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • While the qualities of discipline, work ethic and responsibility were instilled in me during my year, direct applications of university learning with practical work weren't always present. The difference between theoretical knowledge and practical is one that I learnt during my time at placement. However, this will also help me in my final year at University to look at things through a realistic lens.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was a good mixture of fun and discipline. The atmosphere was always light, however, everyone was always in the know how of when the market is tough for trading conditions and upped the level accordingly. That being said, workplace stress never left the office, and never into my personal life.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The team at Renault UK invested in me heavily. I was provided training in software's and skills I know that will help me in University as well. I was also taken to trips around the UK, dealerships, trade shows and other such events to increase my knowledge of the industry.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • 4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Everybody during my year was incredibly friendly and there was a very inclusive nature amongst the people around. We would meet regularly and there were many different events and activities throughout the year that people could volunteer to take part in. There was nobody during my year that was excluded from anything.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife in Watford was alright, it wasn't the best as there weren't many universities around, but it wasn't dead either. That being said, central London was only a 15 minute train ride away and that was always an option for a good night out. There were also places in Uxbridge we went to occasionally.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 4/5
