The Role
I'm planning to return when I graduate.
I still attend socials and am included in corporate activities.
I was given the same level of support as the graduates that started at the same time as me. I had frequent meeting with my manager.
At certain times of the year it was more busy however this is the nature of the work and I was generally able to maintain a balance.
I was treated pretty much the same as the graduates that started at the same time as me.
I have learnt skills that are specific to my course such as accounting. As well as this I have learnt team working and communication skills through interaction with clients.
The Company
In the busier periods it was difficult to maintain a fun atmosphere.
I was the first placement student in my office, I was treated like a graduate - this worked well for me.
I was given a large amount of in-house training as well one external course. They have provided me with transferable skills that I could take to another job.
Company Parties/Events
It feels as though I haven't left when I attend social events.
The Culture
There was only one other student whom was based in a different office. However, the placement students attended all the events the graduates were involved in.
I lived with students so the rent was cheap. I had a student life balance.
Derby isn't my scene. However, we had many events in Nottingham to make up for this.
There was the usual 5 a-side football. As well as random activities such as bingo.
