The Role
Enjoyed it very much due to great balance of work and also social aspects with colleagues.
Felt very valued, from day one was made to feel part of the team and helped to integrate quickly.
I was given excellent support from 2 company mentors. They oversaw my progress on projects and day-to-day work providing help when required. They also chartered progress through appraisals.
I had a good balance. On some occasions I had to stay late to finish work but only out of choice. I was given a great variety of tasks to keep me busy.
Great deal of trust shown from an early stage through mini-projects and tasks for team members.
Significantly developed team ethic, communication and interpersonal skills. Also built up confidence presenting project findings/results to teams.
The Company
Good, friendly atmosphere.
Well organised generally. Some aspects like training came too late into the Internship and were irrelevant at that point.
Company ran training sessions for us. I also got expenses paid work experience to a customer to help develop my customer liason.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Very good prospects through graduate schemes. I also was sponsored by the company for the remainder of my studies.
The Culture
Large number of interns all the same age. Always organising something for the weekends like a meal, go-karting, night out, cinema, quad biking etc.
Pretty standard student rents and socialising costs same.
Lived in Cardiff so always had a good night out (at the weekends).
Got involved in recruitment fairs, charity fundraising and charity work as well as social football every week.
