The Role
Great company to work for. The all the staff are friendly and helpful. I was able to learn and teach myself many new skills and i have been able to expand on them since. I was able to learn the who business and manufacturing process which I also found very interesting. I was given freedom to do work, however help was always there is needed.
They involved me in different tasks teaching me new skills, not just letting me find out alone. they were really helpful and guided me when i needed help. They invited to social events such as 5 a side football.
I was able to go to my supervisor whenever i needed to ask for help. We had regular meetings to discuss my progress, achievements and goals. My manager would always guide and advise me in what to do for different situations.
I was always busy either offering support to manufacturing or looking in ways which changes could improve the business.
At the beginning i was mentored and shadowed members of the team. however after several months, I had enough experience to be trust to walk around site and fix issues on my own.
I was able to write my dissertation on something similar to one of the areas in factory. i was able to use the knowledge i gained to help understand the current issues and what improvement could be made to increase production.
The Company
They atmosphere was good. People would talk between themselves and you would be able to have a joke, however were serious when needed.
The setup was good. there were starter documents that i was able to follow to help me gain a basic understanding. I was also given tours and sent to welcome events.
They sent me to different offices and sites within the company to allow me to meet everyone. This cost money for travel and hotels. They allowed me to partake in my own projects which would of cost the business more money as i had less experience than someone who had previously done it.
