The Role
The initial shock of entering such a large organisation and adapting to the culture took some time to get over but after the initial induction stage I thoroughly enjoyed the experience from both a professional and personal perspective> I was given the opportunity to take on real responsibility and to travel.
By the end of the year I really felt like I was part of a successful sales team and I was trusted with some important accounts.
I was strongly supported and encouraged not only by those at management level but by people from all levels of the organisation.
At times for the first six months there was some waiting for the right people to become available to help me out with some projects while I gained experience and I occasionally had to work longer hours in the latter half of the year to gt projects done on time. This is the nature of sales though.
I was given the ability to conceptualise, promote and grow my own ideas and trusted to look after accounts on my own by the end of the placement.
Massively, my sales experience has already helped me shine in my sales unit for final year.
The Company
The culture is generally very laid back and informal within teams, however sometimes you have to get your head down and work.
We entered the company at a time of great change and for the first few months they were unsure what to do with us, this was improved greatly for the year we handed over to however.
I came out of the year far more experienced in the world of work, the salary was decent and everyone was willing to give me their time. Graduate roles are available to those who especially excel.

I have been offered a graduate role after university and I couldn't be happier.
The Culture
There were events organised for the interns and graduates both by the company social team and amongst the interns themselves.
Reading has relatively high rent and cost of living but not as extortionate as some cities.
Good mix of bars and clubs to explore, especially if you're not from the area.
There are several sports teams to get involved in.
