The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my placement with J N Bentley. Every task I performed was relevant to my course, they provided me with relevant training which would enhance my career/CV and were very understanding about the balance between work and uni life.
Everyone I met at J N Bentley were friendly and welcoming. Nobody treated you as any less of a team-member just because you were on a placement. Everyone was always willing to help if I wasn’t sure what to do
I was given a great amount of support by my supervisors. I worked in a very small team out on site which meant I have plenty of 1 on 1 time with senior engineers/site managers who would happily teach me a thing or two.
Always busy on site but never overwhelmed. Everyone knew what task they needed to do and if someone was struggling there was always somebody close by to help.
I was actually given a lot of responsibility on my placement, during the second half I was doing the majority of site engineering work, which was a challenge but helped my improve my skills massively
The skills/training provided by J N Bentley will help me throughout my career and were extremely useful
The Company
The atmosphere was always great In the office, everyone got on well and got their work done.
The placement was reasonably well organised, I did have to ask for certain training which was supposed to be sorted out for me and sometimes the communication was lacking but overall I would say the placement was well organised
In terms of training both internal and external, Bentley invested a lot of time and effort into their placement students providing them with important and relevant training
I was offered sponsorship through my final year at uni and offered a job at the end. Very satisfied
The Culture
There was a good social side of working with J N Bentley. I made a lot of friends and am looking forward to working with them again
Lived with my parents while I worked so I could save some money
Nightlife was great at home
Yes there was a constant daily update with team activities and events for everyone to join
