The Role
I really enjoyed my time at J.P.Morgan. I got to see how a real work environment is and got to use my knowledge outside university as well. In my project I had to use different technologies so I was never bored of what I was working on. Program was so organised with different intern events as well
My colleagues were really helpfull when I needed help in my work. They were extremely helpful during the first days as well when I had to setup everything in my working space. Whenever my team had a meeting I was invited as well so I was never left out in any of my team’s activities.
My manager was sitting just around the corner so she was always there when I had to ask her something. She was always coming to me to see how I was doing to ask me if I need anything and she was also having quick catch ups with me sto track my progress and help me if needed
Some days I was extremely busy and other days I was more relaxed. It was depended on what I was working on as my project involved different phases and each phase different technologies. I always had my 1 hour lunch break and the latest I left office was half an hour after I was supposed to
At the beginning I was working with some New York interns so the responsibility was shared among us. But after they finished their internships I was the main person rensponsible for its progress and had just to let the project manager know how I was doing.
The skills I developed will sure be really useful in university but also in future jobs as well. I got to work with people in different countries and use technologies I wouln’t have used during university. The process that was taking place from the moment something was finished until to be published in master was amazing
The Company
Everyone was so friendly and relaxed. I thought that everyone will be wearing suits and be grumpy but actually it was the opposite! There were many communal places to hang out and many ignite groups that anyone could join if they had a hobby they wanted to develop more
I was impressed by how organised the event was! On the very first day they gave us a full calendar of all activities that we were going to have (even places and times!). They would also send us a weekly intern newsletter to remind us of upcoming events and things that we had to complete.
As we were interns no personal training was really required. They however supplied each intern with their own desks and PCs and made us accounts for everything. We also had to complete some really long assessement things during first week regarding the business and do some online training

I already received an offer for another internship next summer which I already accepted! Hopefully if everything goes according to plan I might have a graduate offer for the following year as well. You can choose if you want to stay in the same area/team as the one you had your internship in or you can join a new team that has more interesting things
The Culture
There were plenty of social events throughout the whole internship duration! Events for networking , social events in the afternoon, a special dinner for the women interns, a bowling and many others! Teams were really social and some teams would even go for lunch or drinks with their interns
It depends on the excact area that you live in. There are plenty of options for socialising purposes around the company as it is in the city center. Rent will depend on how close you want to live to the city center. I was living 40 mins away but that was no problem as there were buses every 5-10 mins
Plenty of clubs and pubs! There is a whole street with just clubs and pubs so you could go to one and if you didnt like it just go to the next one. There was a pub really close to the company as well if you wanted to start drinking as soon as you finished work
Yes. There were pub quizes organised by the company for their employees as well and different seminars you could attend to if you wanted to broaden yor knowledge. There was also a good work day where we volunteered to nearby stables
