The Role
The Interview process was very well organised. The Spring week applicants were fast tracked when applying for Internship roles. Overall it was a good experience. People working there seemed very nice. It is also worth pointing out that during the interview they ask what areas you are interested in. Hence they pick interesting projects for every intern.
They select all the candidates very carefully. Personality is very important. Therefore all the people are very nice and friendly. Especially the interns that I will be working with in summer, all seem really nice.
I have heard that it is not hard to get help if you are stuck on something. I think I will have a supervisor that will help me understand the project better. I will be able to tell more after the summer when I complete my internship within the company.
The working hours are definitely not bad. In Glasgow's office is normally from 9am till 5pm which is great. Maybe in other offices the working hours are longer but definitely not in Glasgow.
I was told that interns usually work on interesting projects and some of them even go to production after the interns leave. Hence the projects are of a high responsibility.
Internships are always a great experience. Also it is a high chance to be offered a grad scheme after the internship is completed. So it is very useful for my career. Also the skills I will gain will help me to complete my final year of university.
The Company
After doing the Spring Week and Code for Good I am sure that every one is very friendly. The atmosphere is very warm.
Interns have a lot of social events and talks that they have to attend. All of these events make the internship really interesting. At the beginning they are all introduced with their teams. The HR people are always ready to welcome the interns.
J. P. Morgan definitely cares a lot about their employees. Even during the interview process, they ask about my personal interests so they can match me with the best job.

J. P. Morgan is a well known company. Which means it will be easier to get a grad scheme in any other company. Also there is a high chance you are offered a job after the end of the internship.
The Culture
Yes interns were the friendliest people. Quite a few of them are from my university. I imagine we will get really close during the internship. Also the other candidates I met in the assessment centre were very nice and chatty.
Glasgow is a great place to live. It is so much cheaper than London. Rent is probably 3 times cheaper. Travel is quite cheap as well. You can rent a cheap flat near the office and go to work by foot which would not be possible in London.
Glasgow's office is 5-10 minute walk from the main streets of Glasgow. There are so many pubs, clubs, restaurants. They say Glasgow is the best city to live for young people since there is so much to do. It is quite a safe place as well.
One of my hobbies is going to the gym. I do believe I will have time to go to the gym every morning and spend evening with my colleagues outside of the office. Work is definitely not all you do when working at J. P. Morgan. A huge part of the internship is social events and other activities you can do when living in a city like Glasgow.
