The Role
Given responsibility from the start which made the duration of the internship interesting and enjoyable.
I got on very well with everyone in my team and other colleagues, but it was a small team and I'm not sure how useful/relevant my work was for them.
Given good support/guidance throughout my internship. Felt comfortable to ask for help and was regularly checked upon.
The work did vary by week, some were busier than others. Definitely feel I could have done more work and been busier, despite asking to help/be given tasks regularly.
I was given a good level of responsibility in terms of working on projects independently, although I again am unsure as to how important this was to my team/operations.
The work ethic I developed throughout the internship has/will be very useful in completing my degree. It also improved vital skills such as in analysis and literature, which will be very useful for assignments and exams.
The Company
Very friendly, people worked hard but were also sociable. The high performance work space made for a positive atmosphere.
Well organised with regular events throughout the 10 weeks. Good mixture of events with other interns and with more senior staff.
Received a good amount of trading in terms of code of conduct of the firm and pre-training helping to develop a basic understanding of financial services.
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
Working for the company full time is an exciting prospect, especially with the possibility of being given more work and responsibility.
The Culture
There was potential for a good social scene, and i met up numerous times with my close group of friends.
Living in Bournemouth is not too expensive and is a nice place to live. However I had the benefit of living at home, 20 minutes from the office.
Very good, the area has lots of clubs and bars and as there is a university there are lots of students around.
There is opportunity to be involved in various out of work activity, namely in sports.
