    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement with Enterprise. I learnt so many things about running a business that you can’t learn from university. It’s a tough placement to do, the hours are long and it’s demanding but the rewards are incredible. I’ve loved every minute of placement.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I always felt respected, included and appreciated by the people I worked with. My managers trust me to make the right decisions for the company and newer members of staff can always come to me for help.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The majority of my managers were very supportive, the odd one I didn’t feel like they cared as much about my progression but on the whole, very supportive both professionally and personally.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There is always something to do! From the minute you start to the second you walk out the door at the end of the day. The great thing about it is that it’s always different, you’re never on the same task for long so it’s really hard to get bored.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was trusted to be the duty manager on several occasions throughout my year. I was trusted to act appropriately in every situation and managers very rarely questioned my decisons.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Personally, I’ve changed so much in the last year that ima completely different person than I was when I started a year ago. I’m so much more confident and driven now. It’s also really good now that I’ve gone back to uni because it’s easier for me to understand the theoretical side of my studies.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I work in a very busy branch with lots of different staff members. When you work with the right staff the atmosphere is great but on the odd occasion it can feel like you’re the only person at work. That’s only 1 branch though, generally speaking, whichever branch you go into is very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised. The TA and TD teams are there from the very first day! Always on hand to drop an email to or call if you have any questions and incredibly supportive. They communicate with you all the time and make the transition from student to full time worker very easy.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Most managers really took a personal stake in my development, they put everything they could into helping me develop myself. On hand to call no matter what time of day or whether they work in the same branch as you or not. They’re family!

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I’m so excited to go back and work full time with them after I graduate. I like to think I have a very exciting career ahead of myself with them.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The branch I work in means people travel from all over, meaning that it’s difficult to organise something. But when we all get together it’s so much fun. You make friends with everyone you work with anyway so you know at least 2 or 3 people are normally free to spend time with.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I live in a very expensive student area.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The night life is great but I was always too tired to go out!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was some but not many close to me.

    3/5
