The Role
This internship was challenging but very rewarding. Everyday was different - its exciting! I thoroughly enjoyed it and have learnt so much this year and been able to meet and listen to such creative and talented people.
Everyone in Nike is very supportive, fun and welcoming. It made the working environment so much more comfortable. My team was very close and they have taught me so much about the retail industry. Everyone in the office and those within the organisation, working in stores or other territories shared the same values.
I had a lot of support from my manager however there was also a lot of autonomy. Many incidents where I had to figure it out myself but they were always there to provide reassurance. As mentioned previously, not only was management supportive, my colleagues and in the wider organisation was very helpful.
Everyday was a different day - I was always excited running between Nike stores and the office. My team was quite small hence the workload was heavy however it was very rewarding. There were always multiple campaigns happening simultaneously which really pushed me creatively but gave me a lot of confidence overtime because of the autonomy i was given.
More than I expected. I performed tasks beyond my remit and have taken on multiple campaigns myself. The organisation really shows trust and values in their interns, we were not at all treated differently. Everyone was part of team and everyone worked just as hard, this is something I am truly grateful for. My responsibilities varied from retail executions, events, executing pop up stores and other administrative tasks.
The skills and knowledge I've acquired after this year is tremendously helpful for any coursework or exams. I have been able to take multiple examples and drawn on my own experiences to form arguments in my assignment. It really allows me to be critical about theoretical frameworks by bringing in practical experience and firm insights. My communication and organisation skills allows me to be even more efficient and confident in my decision making, it makes me less stressed about degree work and be able to prioritise tasks better.
The Company
Fun! We had hot-desks which meant everyday I sit with different people across the function. Everyone is always energetic, which brings a very positive atmosphere to the office.
Due to organisation changes, my placement was changed quite significantly hence there was less structure to it, however without a doubt, its been an incredible journey.
I believe most of it came from the tasks I was given and having to learn on the job. However the firm really encourages taking courses and stepping out of your comfort zone, working across multiple functions to develop as many skills as possible.

Nike really believes in their employees and as long as you have made a positive impact, shown great passion and perform tasks wholeheartedly - you are encouraged to come back!
The Culture
Yes! Everyone bonded very well. There were always celebratory parties or smaller social drinks and activities that we would organise. On top of that, we had summer sporting events or occasionally spin / yoga classes open to all.
London definitely has a very high cost of living and socialising especially working in soho!
Being in the heart of Soho, it was always busy and fun!
Yes - we had gym, yoga or spin classes that we could sign up to either as small groups or team-wide. We also had running clubs and colleagues running fitness class in the office.
