The Role
The internship involved delving into various aspects of the projects conducted by the team. It was therefore successful in providing a higher level view of technology and data science in the company. This made it thoroughly enjoyable. More structure to the actual role would be the only suggestion I have.
The team did not pass on projects that were not going to be used, or worked on by others.
The guidance and support provided throughout the internship were very valuable. Perhaps the guidance was inconsistent due to organisational changes.
The workload was sufficient to keep me interested and motivated through the internship, but not overworked (most of the time).
The projects that I had the opportunity to work in, my team divided the tasks amongst us equally.
I gained a lot through the experience, technically as well as socially. Technically, I learned other programming languages and a lot more about data science in industry. Other social skills picked up included talking to clients, forming and maintaining networks with colleagues.
The Company
It was a good mixture of work and other social activities once in a while. Perhaps there were not many other activities due to reorganisational changes within the team.
The general area of technology and data science were defined. However, the projects or their specifications were decided as and when they were ongoing.

The Culture
The social aspects of the internship were very well organised for the majority of the interns. However during the first three months, prior to the summer interns and 12 month IPs arriving, there were very few events organised.
