The Role
The experience that I gained in my year at Adobe was genuinely invaluable. It’s definitely the best thing that has happened to me regarding my career and it’s set me up to pursue a successful career in sales. The responsibility I was given was what made the real difference. I was treated like a full time employee, rather than an intern, which ultimately led to amazing opportunities and experience.
As previously mentioned, the responsibility I was given was unbelievable. I was trusted massively by my colleagues which motivated me to work harder and achieve my goals which I ultimately did.
There was constant support available from both my colleagues and manager if I needed it. Otherwise, I was allowed to carry out my own tasks and work in a way that suited me best, enabling me to reach my goals.
You’re as busy as you make yourself. Obviously there is a minimum requirement on a daily basis, but because I was given a target to work towards, it was up to me to apply myself in an appropriate manner in order to hit my target. This massively improved my time management over the course of the year.
I was given the freedom to go out and source my own deals, work on them and submit them as opportunities to my account executives. It was like running my own little business without being micromanaged and being trusted to put the work in so that I would reach my target.
My year at Adobe has given me a tremendous work ethic that I have carried in to my final year, giving me the motivation to work harder in my degree. It has also given me a taste of a career in sales which I absolutely loved, and I’m therefore striving to exceed in order to return to a sales role.
The Company
It was generally a good atmosphere. It is a very competitive role and there are plenty of ups and downs. Things sometimes go your way and sometimes they don’t which creates an ever-changing atmosphere. It motivated me to ensure I was succeeding so that I was in a positive mood both at work and at home.
It was very well organised. From the assessment centre to my final day, we always knew what was required of us. We had weekly team meetings to discuss successes and failures in which we’d work together to overcome any difficulties as a team.
We had a fairly intense on boarding process in which we’d learn the basics of the job. Because of the responsibility we were given, we were often left to our own devices which massively improved me as both an account manager and a person.

Because of the amazing year I had and the unbelievable experience I gained, I aim to return to Adobe after my final year at university.
The Culture
We often went for drinks, nights out and played sports as a team. We had a five a side league that we played in every week as well. All of which helped to build relationships amongst the team, benefiting us on a daily basis and helping to improve results.
With the placement being based down south, the cost of living and socialising was understandably quite high. This wasn’t a significant problem though, as the pay was more than sufficient to cover the costs.
I was based in Maidenhead and the Nightlife was pretty poor if I’m honest. Surrounding areas such as reading however, were decent.
Yes, as previously mentioned, we often had nights out and drinks as a team, whilst also participating in certain sports.
