Partner Success Intern Review

My work placement was challenging yet extremely rewarding. Being proactive definitely helps you to get the best value out of your placement. The company is very supportive with any university assignments you might have to do during the internship and always try to get you connected to the people that can help you the best. The office is gorgeous and the people are extremely welcoming and open. It is definitely a place to feel welcome.

My colleagues always appreciated my work and never took me or my work for granted. They were patient when I had questions and explained everything multiple times if necessary. They also always asked me whether i had the time to do certain things or if they should ask someone else in order to make me feel comfortable with my workload and to not stress me. They were more like friends than colleagues.

My manager and my supervisor always tried to help me the best they could and if they couldn't help me, they tried to find someone who could. They reminded me not forget anything I had to do for my university because they said that that always comes first. They taught me things like being assertive, time management and how to not get stressed by deadlines.

In the first few weeks all I had to do was training, which means I had to learn everything about the company, their products and their mentality. That was the time when I had the least to do. After that I always had plenty of things do do but never too much. Of course there were quite stressful days but they were an exception.

I was given quite some responsibility during my placement. I was involved in some things that were reported to leadership, was given projects to work on on my own and only report the results afterwards. My manager involved me in many things by telling me what outcome she wanted and leaving the rest to me.

The skills I developed will not only help me in my degree and studies by giving me an insight into what the real business-world looks like but will also help me in my personality development by helping me realize my strengths and how to use them and identifying my weaknesses and on how to improve them.

The general atmosphere in the office was very nice. We had much fun and laughed a lot and everybody was very caring and friendly. I felt welcome from the first day o and always felt that I could talk to everyone if something wasn't quite right or if I had any problems

The internship was very well organized. They set up some daily tasks for me so that I never had nothing to do but always had room for any urgent projects or projects I wanted to do. The only thing was that the training i received was set up for people with work experience and not for interns. But now they are working an a training for interns / people without sales experience.

The company invests quite a lot of time and effort in training in general which also applied for me. I had weekly catch ups with the trainer that is dedicated especially for the team to provide them with any training they need, and weekly catch ups with my supervisor in order to figure out where i still need or want more training or support.

I plan on trying to do another internship in the company because it is very appealing to come back to such a caring and challenging environment. The travel industry itself is extremely interesting and working for the leading company in this field seems very appealing so it would be a pleasure to come back in the future

There was a very good social scene amongst the interns. We regularly met up for lunch, went for drinks after work or did something fun on the weekends. The company itself even organized many events especially for the interns in some cool locations in London to get them together and let them get to know each other

The cost of living and socializing in the area I worked in was very expensive. Living in London in general is extremely expensive but if you are lucky you can find some student friendly places that give student discounts or you have to look for cheaper alternatives or consider staying in on some weekends. But the company pays interns quite well so you should not worry about affording the after work drinks.

There are many possibilities to go out if you can afford it. There are many pubs and restaurants in Victoria and some clubs near by. Getting around an finding something cheaper isn't a problem as well due to the London underground system so you have a lager variety of possible nightlife activities

There were many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work like running clubs, yoga classes, and the possibility to join running competitions. But there not just sporty events but also mindfulness sessions during work to get you back focused, ethical appreciation clubs and regular social gatherings. There is literally something for everyone
