The Role
I had a fantastic experience during the internship. Deutsche does an excellent job finding which desk would be the best fit for an internship, and therefore one immediately has an intellectual interest in the projects every day.
I thought that everyone was incredibly friendly. Not only were those on the desk very helpful, but anyone within the bank was excited to meet with me if I sent them an email.
The internship at DB has an incredible network of support. We have a buddy system as well as a mentor system. Beyond that HR is very in touch on a day to day basis.
I was always busy, but all the projects I was given were genuinely important and very interesting.
By the end of the internship you feel like you are part of the team. What is really cool is that by the end of the summer, you are giving a presentation in front of MDs with your own ideas coming from the desk.
I have not had the chance to graduate yet, but the skills I learned at DB are important for life. After this internship, I felt so much more in touch with the markets, and perhaps more importantly, how the world actually works.
The Company
I thought the atmosphere in the office was obviously very serious, as it is in any investment bank. However, even when times were the most tense, I still felt that I was able to go up to anyone on my team and get the support or help I need from any project.
The internship is incredibly well set up. I felt that I had a full network of support through the buddy system and HR. Further, HR did a fantastic job setting up networking sections with different parts of the bank as well as fascinating lectures.
DB invests an incredible amount in its interns. We had a great pre-training program where I really felt that I was hitting the ground running. After this, we had various info sessions and options to attend lectures to learn more on any given sector.

International Travel
DB rewards talent, so If you work hard and are talented you will be promoted and have responsibility very quickly within the company. This is not the environment where every MD has grey hair.
The Culture
We had a great social scene. I thought that DB does a great job of organizing events for its interns. By the second week, all the interns were going out in the city together.
London is not a cheap city!
The nightlife in London is awesome. I had some of the best weekends of my college career in London during the internship.
Yes. If one demonstrates a clear interest in an outside activity, then I believe it is very easy to become involved.
