The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my internship with IBM, the year gives you a great insight into what working in a global organisation such as IBM entails, and there is great scope for some amazing opportunities.
I worked within a global team, so was sometimes the only member of my team in the Bedfont office but I never felt alone. I had plenty of other interns around me and members of foundation.
IBM provide you with a line manager and Personal Development Management throughout your placement year, both provide excellent support and guidance.
I had a manageable amount of work on a daily basis, but then running upto events in Vienna and Paris I became extremely busy.
The Company
A great mix of interns, graduates and full time IBM'ers. You could reach out to any IBM'er at anytime and they would try and help you or point you in the right direction if they could.
Very efficient, and a great aspect having a Personal development manager as well as your line manager.
We had online training through foundation, and we were allowed to go to different events that we had interests in to develop our knowledge within the company.

I've applied for a graduate role with them.
The Culture
It was like being at University, with a full time job. We went out every weekend and made the most of living in London. We also lived in houses together, so it was exactly like being at University.
Fairly expensive...but the wage IBM paid me covered the majority of living and socialising costs.
30 minutes on the tube into central london, that's where we mostly went out as there isn't much around the Bedfont area at Heathrow where I was based.
