The Role
It exceeded my expectations. I gained responsibilities and valuable experience throughout whilst working in a sociable and fun environment.
My placement with J N Bentley gave me the opportunity to gain responsibilities and tasks which were valued by the company. It proved that if you were willing to work hard you would be rewarded and well regarded within the company.
I always felt like I had someone to speak to whether work related or not. I built a good relationship with my manager which made it easy to talk and work in a high pressured environment.
The first half of placement is all about learning different skills and systems. There was never a day where I could t help or complete a task to help me learn. As you gain experience and prove yourself the responsibilities you gain really do keep you busy.
As I’ve already said, if you are willing to work hard and contribute, you will be rewarded with responsibilities.
It helped me gain a better understanding of the modules I’m studying in my final year. It also disciplined me to be proactive each day and work my hardest to achieve goals
The Company
Very sociable. Everyone knew there jobs so it was intense but good fun.
Very organised! Never had to worry about doing anything myself.
They offer great incentives if you do well such as sponsorship. They help build you as a person and prepare you for life after uni.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
The future employment prospects are very inviting. Great incentives and competitive pay. There are clear opportunity’s to progress.
The Culture
There was a good amount of fellowplacement students. I have made good friends during my placement that I will be sure to keep in touch with.
I commuted 40 mins to work as my parents lived near by. The local area is rural but Telford, and Birmingham are within driving distance.
Shifnal is a small town but surprisingly ive had some good social events with colleagues there. Other offices such as Leeds offer a great night life.
On my placement, I joined a local tennis and golf club which in the summer was a really good way to meet people and stay active. I also started playing 5 a Side football.
