About You
I very much enjoyed my time spent at Nomura! I found that the organisers ensured that the insight was interesting and engaging, with interactive and varied activities to partake in. We were given the opportunity to network with interesting people, and at the end of the week we had the opportunity to spend a morning on the trading floor, which I very much enjoyed!
I was made to feel very well valued during my time at Nomura. Although I was only there for a short period, I was provided with a desk and security pass, which made me feel valued. Furthermore, staff at Nomura seemed to be genuinely interested in us and what we had to say.
I was provided with a great level of support during my time at Nomura. Before the insight started, I was assigned a buddy, who met me on my first day, helping me to settle in and feel at ease. Furthermore, we had lots of guidance on the graduate application process, which I found to be particularly beneficial.
I found the spring insight programme at Nomurato be really beneficial for my personal development and I believe that I will use the knowledge and skills I develop during my time here in the future. I vastly developed my understanding of the investment sector and this is beneficial for my degree, as well as in future interviews.
The Company
I found the spring insight at Nomura to be very well structured and I cannot fault the overall organisation of the programme. We were always busy, with each day filled with interesting activities and workshop. Furthermore, there was a good variety in the activities, as well as plenty of networking opportunities.
There was a great general atmosphere at Nomura and I found it to be a very friendly environment to be in. I found everyone to be extremely approachable, meaning I was able to networking with a wide range of people. I also enjoyed the location of Nomura as it was in central London, the view was incredible and I was very impressed by the professional and 'smooth running' atmosphere at Nomura.
It was very evident just how much resource Numora had invested in this spring programme. All the sessions were designed to benefit our personal development and helped us to develop the skills needed to succeed in this sector. We had a variety of different sessions ranging from presentation skills sessions, data analytics and interview skills.
This insight programme provided me a solid understanding of what it would be like to have a full time role at Nomura. With the opportunity to work shadow different desks, I was able to gain an understand of the type of task I would be completing on a day to day basis.
I gained a much better understanding of the company culture during this spring programme. It was very evident that Nomura is very proud of its corporate values, as well as its Japanese heritage, making this Bank different to other in the sector. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the culture at the firm.
My time at spent at the bank has certainly confirmed that I am passionate about pursuing a career in the financial sector. I was exposed to different areas of the bank and I was able to determine which area I would be most suited to. Furthermore, this insight has certainly made me consider Nomora as a future employer.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed of all my travel expenses and lunch and refreshments were provided throughout.
During this spring programme, there were plenty of opportunities to network with employees of the bank, especially during the dedicated networking sessions. Furthermore, we were encouraged to network on our own and I certainly made the most of this opportunity by approaching employees throughout the duration of the spring programme.
I very much enjoyed the networking and social events, with employees very open and receptive to our questions.
Yes, there are plenty of opportunity for employees to get involved in activities outside of work!
Yes, I would absolutely recommend this insight programme to a friend!
