An internship at Cushman & Wakefield is something I would recommend to anyone. I was able to greatly benefit my knowledge and abilities within the industry due to the constant exposure I was given. Working within such an enthusiastic and friendly environment meant that the whole 6-weeks flew by. In addition, I created lots of fond memories and friends during my time there. The company has a great culture and provides many opportunities to get involved with such as networking or sporting events.

From the get go, I was instantly made to feel like one of the team. This continued throughout the whole internship, being given plenty of opportunities to attend client meetings, go on site visits and have an influential role within projects such as helping with the decision making or producing work for the clients.

One aspect of the internship I am most pleased about was the constant support I was given. May that be from my own team or from other departments, despite the workload they may be facing, they would always take time to ensure I am confident with what I am doing.

Throughout the whole internship I had a great work balance as I always had something to do. I could have quite easily been given tasks that may have seemed tedious but I am grateful to have been involved within such a wide array of projects ranging from big to small, which were all as enjoyable as each other.

Again, coming to work as an intern for such a huge firm, I was skeptical whether I would be given the opportunity to learn and develop my skills through the responsibilities I would be enrolled. However, from day one I was given an influential role on a large proportion of the tasks which continued throughout the internship.

Now in my final year, having already come from a background of property related experience, the 6-week internship I did at Cushman & Wakefield has definitely had the most influential role on my career. Being shown a further insight to the wider fundamentals of the property industry has definitely helped to broaden my knowledge for my final year.

I remember when I was on the internship I commented on how there was such a hard-working desire from everyone in the office which was mixed into a bubbly and enthusiastic atmosphere creating an enjoyable place to work. Everyone always had a smile on their face and would always go the extra mile to ensure I was enjoying my time. I became friends with lots of people from the office who I still continue to speak to today.

The whole internship from start to finish was done very professionally and was made to be very enjoyable. It was the first time one of the Chartered Surveyors who mentored me had played a role like this before and I was amazed. He did such a great job ensuring I was always busy by giving me projects to work on and by ensuring I was able to experience every aspect of the business, which I am very grateful for.

While working at Cushman & Wakefield, the team I worked besides always did their best to ensure I was given exposure to as many aspects of the industry as possible. I was involved within a huge variety of projects which helped develop my skills in areas I may not have had exposure to previously.

Based in the Manchester office, I was one of three interns. Meeting them for the first time on the induction day in London we all became good friends by the end of it. While at Cushman & Wakefield besides the interns, the colleagues I worked with were all very inviting always welcomed us to conversations and events away from the office. Playing in the weekly 5-a-side with the team from the office helped to build friendships which remain today.

Yes - I was involved in the weekly 5-a-side football which was in a competitive league playing alongside the colleagues from the office. During my time there I went on countless social gatherings. There were many trips such as going to play pool, watch the cricket or even the football when England were 'bringing it home'
