The Role
A great experience, overall happy environment with support from the Foundation team.
With constrained resources interns are needed for business critical roles - this was evident and made me feel extremely valued by collegues and the business.
Having two managers - task and people manager - allowed for a great support network for development.
I was extremely well utilised but allowed for a work-life balence.
Responsibility increased throughout my placement through proving myself and earning trust.
My placement at IBM has allowed me to understand theory and content at University in a practical content.
The Company
Fast paced and positive atmosphere where collegues are happy to help and develop the placement students.
Very well organised and structured through 3-6-9-12 month reviews but not to rigid to reflect real working life.
There is a variety of learning and training resources internally within IBM - for instance, badges on the latest technology.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
I am very motivated to have a future within IBM.
The Culture
Yes - with over 200 IBM interns and over 100 in London (my base) there was a strong intern social scene.
Expensive in London but viable.
Southbank - very lively and diverse.
Yes - lots of activities advertsied and on offer within IBM.
