About You
I really loved my time spent at DLA Piper! Three weeks provided the perfect amount of time to settle in and experience day-to-day life at the firm. The vacation scheme was interesting and varied and I felt that I was able to get a lot out of this experience. Overall, a very enjoyable experience!
I was made to feel like a welcomed and valued member of the team throughout my time at DLA Piper! I had the opportunity to work on interesting projects and interact with clients, proving that the team believed in my abilities. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to attend employee training sessions and to attend court, which made me feel valued and trusted.
There was plenty of support and guidance on this vacation scheme at DLA Piper, and I found my line manager to be particularly supportive! The HR Team also acted as a great support system and I was assigned a graduate buddy on my first day. I was able to turn to this individual with any adhoc questions that I had.
The skills and knowledge that I developed will certainly assist me in the future! I developed a range of transferable skills which will benefit me in both my future career and my final year at university, where I am studying law. Moreover, this experience has made me more confident in my abilities and this will benefit me in any future interviews.

DLA Piper invested heavily into this vacation scheme, as shown by the amount of effort they put into making us feel well-valued. We had endless amounts of training and this vacations scheme really focused on our personal development. It was clear to see just how much time, effort and money had been invested into this scheme, in order to make it the best possible experience.
This vacation scheme very much helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full-time role at DLA Piper. I was able to undertake tasks similar to that of which a graduate trainee would be doing and spending 3 weeks on the desk provided me with a rounded experience of what day-to-day life at DLA Piper is like.
Having the opportunity to spend 3 weeks at the firm allowed me to really understand more about the culture at DLA Piper. We were given a number of presentations about the culture and values at the firm, and I was able to witness this culture first-hand during my time spent with my team.
The content of the vacation scheme was very valuable in helping me to determine my future career path. There was a good variety of activities on the scheme and I was able to develop a good understand of what day-to-day life as a solicitor is really like. My experience at DLA Piper has confirmed that I want to pursue a career in this sector.
