Barclays Intern Review

I was able to organise with the help of my school, an insight programme at Barclays. I am very grateful to be able to have this experience as it allowed me to see the world of banking. It allowed me to understand what it would be like to have a career in this field.

I felt valued during my time at Barclays, everyone put in effort to make sure I was involved. I learnt a lot about the work place at Barclays, and I got to experience an average day in the working world, by working with personal bankers, mortgage advisors, and others, as well as interacting with members of the public.

The supervisor who I was assigned put in great effort and offered plenty of guidance, making sure I had no problems during my time. My time spent there was on a work placement but the staff were very welcoming and management was always around and setting a good example to staff and also myself.

A lot of emphasis was put in to making sure I was developing my skills during my time. i was able to gain a wider knowledge and understanding of the day to day running of a bank from small jobs such as organising deposit slips and file keeping, to higher things such as loan pitches.

It was well structured, with me having a timetable explaining my days and this included debrief sessions at the end of each day. The staff at Barclays were extremely welcoming and accepting. They helped me ease in to the branch very well and all the staff were extremely polite at my time there.

The atmosphere was very calm and relaxed, and this was not something I expected prior to starting. My time at Barclays was fun and enjoyable as I learnt a lot while doing my work experience. The staff there were really nice and embraced me as if I was an actual employee.

The supervisor put in a lot of time and effort to make sure, I was making the most of my time. it was really hard working and really helped me with getting to know more about the business aspect of the world and allows me to see what people in their position do

After this experience, I was able to make up my mind that this is where I wanted to lead my career. I have to admit that working with this company, give you all the tools you could need to progress and advance in your career, lovely staff and team environment to be in, was happy every day coming to work

The insight programme allowed me to understand the environment of working in a place like Barlcays. i really enjoy working at Barclays its gave me such a good learning platform and i have gain a lot of experience. it is a challenging job however i admire the variety through out the day to day experience.

The insight programme made me make my mind up that this is the type of work I wanted to do for my career. It is a great place to work at and everyone was really friendly. Also the role of the supervisor during my time made this experience even more enjoyable.
