The Role
The work was interesting and the team of people around me were helpful. The work I carried out was real life work which meant I had a purpose and my work was valued and important.
My colleagues would delegate work to me and would then be very greatful for me helping them as part of the team. I therefore felt very welcome and valued as I was completing work to a high level for the company.
I was always able to ask for help and when I did the feedback was useful and enabled me to learn. I was also able to arrange meeting with management where I could ask questions and where I was able to gain a good insight into the structure of the company.
I was always kept busy but didn't feel rushed which was good as I was learning as I went along. It was good to be kept busy and also have some work to do.
I was doing real work which was then checked by those above me before going out to the clients or HMRC. I was therefore given a lot a responsibility to correctly carry out the work of a full time graduate.
The training, skills and knowledge I gained from the internship were of huge use to me. I learnt a lot about the business and its structure, as well as information about Tax.
The Company
Everyone was friendly and I felt I could approach people when and if I needed to. There was a good vibe around the office and I soon got to know a lot of people around me.
The internship was very well oragnised. I had a diary planned out from the start and new what I would be doing throughout my 6 weeks. There were plently of events organised all of which were useful and fun in there own way.
The company allowed the interns to attend the annual conference and also sent the interns off for a 2 days training course. Aswell as this I felt that even during a 6 weeks internship, the company cared about developing us and helping us to find out as much as possible whilst there.
Company Parties/Events
I secured a full time graduate position following the internship which I fully intend to take up.
The Culture
All the interns soon got to knwo each other helped by a great introduction day. We all socialised through and outside of work and it was great to have the company of others in the same situation.
Socialising was cheap as when organised by the company it was usually paid for. I lived at home so didn't have to pay rent, although I had to pay travel expenses ot of my wage.
Central London - You can do almost any thing that takes your fancy.
I took part in a race at Battersea Park which was great fun and enabled me to meet new people and to get a real feel of being part of the company.
