The Role
I value this as one of the best experiences you can get into a corporate lifestyle. During the actual internship I realized this is not something I'd want to do with my life, but I'd never be able to get to that information without this placement. I could also not afford to do an internship without pay, so that is a very significant bonus.
The general mood towards me was friendly, although there is always a possibility to hear a snide remark about interns, I felt that it was mostly in good fun. It can however be frustrating when you are the objectively speaking lowest valued team member and your opinion does not really matter, especially in cases where you feel you have the knowledge to make a significant contribution.
I myself made a very conscious effort in getting to know all of the working parts of my team, if I had not done that I would probably be lost. In my opinion it is expected that either you already know how the business runs or you try your best to get to know it (without any nudges from the others).

I predict this statement stands for almost all internships, but I'd have days where I stayed late in work since I had to finish some critical assignements and I also had days where I had little to do and time seemed still. For this reason I strongly implore anybody that seeks an intership here, to actively seek out responsibility and tasks.
Connecting with the previous question, I'd say about fifty percent of my work was what you might call "intern work". That is the most unglamorous type of work which constitutes printing, laminating, moving stuff around and in general being somebody that does all of the grindy copy & paste work. But the other fifty percent was interesting, I got my own projects and had to take responsibility for their functionality, that is a very valuable experience.
The Company
It is what you'd expect from an office atmosphere, most of the time you're working, but you'd still get some breaks and have a laugh with your coworkers. There were definitely good moments, but at the same time there were moments where it was a "good" and productive work enviroment.
There were a few hiccups at the beggining, to me it seemed like nobody really had the time to spare to properly help me get set up. Maybe that was also my interpretation of things, since I was pretty lost at the beggining. I have made arrangements with my manager, so there will be improvements made for my successor.
You have a possibility to do some fairly useful online courses, which helps with the basic understanding of some specific topics. If you have spare time you are always welcome to browse some files pre-prepared by your team, to get a better understanding of the work that is done around you.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
I rate this quite low, since during the internship I realized this is not a field I'd be interested in.
The Culture
There is a weekly social, the interns also organize a weekly football. If you want to, you can always hang out with other people.
Oxford is quite expensive, that goes for accomodation and for maybe going out for a pint. It is not as expensive as London, but still in the top ten percent for England. I had a very good deal with rent, so I payed about £450 per month, but this as I gathered from others was a spectacular deal.
Since Oxford has a huge University, you'd expect more of a Nightlife than it actually has to offer (probably has to do with the seriousness of the Uni). The pubs are always great fun, but I'd not qualify that as Nightlife. If you keep a look out on social media, you can always find something to do.
There are a lot of Student organisations, so if you make an effort you can definitely get something outside of work.
