The Role
I enjoyed most of my time at MMT Digital, I was working within the Response and Maintenance team for the majority of the time which resulted in a wide range/variety of work for some big clients and some smaller clients. Some of the non-development based work wasn't as enjoyable but this was all part of the role.
MMT Digital has a very good culture around it where you don't feel separated from anybody and, even as a placement student, any work you complete will be respected and treat the same as everybody else.
Most of the days I was busy, however due to the nature of the work on the Response and Maintenance team we occasionally had downtime without work, this time was then promptly directed towards relevant training which mean't we were never wasting time, even on those occasions where we had little to no work.
We were treated the same as any other developer within the company, this meant directly communicating with clients and carrying out work as a developer and not a placement developer. Despite this, we still had full support and weren't expected to know everything.
It was a great experience to learn and develop skills within a real-world working environment which I believe will help me for the rest of my career.
The Company
We were always given the opportunity for training when we had downtime as well as the ability to ask others about our training which made this more useful than just following guides online.
Company Parties/Events
If given the ability to move onto other teams (which is a possibility both during and after placement) the future employment prospects are very promising.
