About You
I found the whole experience extremely enjoyable and beneficial. I particularly appreciated the informative and very detailed session about how to submit a successful application for a vacation scheme and the interactive commercial awareness exercise, which made me step out of my comfort, to find out that speaking in front of an audience is perhaps not as awkward one might think.
This is irrelevant to me as I only attended an insight day for first year university students. However, we were very well looked after during the few hours we were there. Everyone including the graduate team members, the senior partner we had the pleasure to meet and the trainee solicitors were very friendly and supportive. I personally had the impression that Taylor Wessing employees and trainees are very well supported throughout their careers with the company and encouraged to perform to the best of their abilities.
To be honest, I did not expect to benefit from this brief experience as much as I did, mainly due to the time constraint. Yet, I was very pleasantly surprised and left the building with a lot more infirmation than what I came in with. The support and guidance we received were second to none. I must say I was really impressed with the high standards of Taylor Wessings and how committed the graduate team is, to delivering very high quality and vital information to university students regarding the application process for vacation schemes and training experiences.
While the information I received is not necessarily linked to my studies, it is indispensable for me to submit a good application for a vacantion scheme in the future. I highly appreciated the degree of detail it was all presented with as well as the interactive session that enabled us to ask questions and find out about the common mistakes to avoid.
The Company
Everything was impressively well planned. We were given a clear activity planner with the timing of each session, in order for us to know what will be covered and what to expect. Overall, a very well structured experience.
The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed but professional at the same time. I immediately felt at ease as soon as I walked in the room and I cannot recall being anxious or having an awkward moment at all. I genuinely have nothing negative to say.
We were invited for a first year insight day. I regard the warm welcome and the invaluable information we received as an initial investment in potential future candidates to further experiences with the company.
We received genuine and realistic testimonials from Taylor Wessing solicitors, trainees and partners regarding a full time experience with the company. This gave me personally an excellent general view of the company from different perspectives.
It did not take me long to understand that Taylor Wessing offers an international culture that privileges creativity, commitment and passion. In return, you are very well supported and encouraged to achieve a remarkable performance.
This gave me a very realistic and highly informative insight into the professional life of a solicitor in a city law firm.

Travel expenses will be paid back to us.
We had the opportunity to meet trainee solicitors over lunch and around drinks at the end of the day. A senior Partner also gave a speech that I particularly enjoyed.
