About You
I enjoyed the insight day as it provided an in depth view into not only the operations of the firm, but also the various different sectors that the firm specialises in, such as commercial law and dispute resolutions. This insight day was also well planned and stayed on schedule. The location was also easy to find.
I felt very comfortable and valued during my time here. The staff were very welcoming and the partners and trainees treated us very well. I did not at any point feel lesser or disrespected nor did I ever feel any sense of hierarchy during my time here. I also felt comfortable asking questions to anyone at all times.
We were provided with a lot of support during the workshop. We were given much help and talks that gave us better insight into the firm. I was comfortable asking any questions that I had with reassurance that they would be answered. It was also easy to ask for any help, eg with regards to location or accommodation.
I did receive a lot of insight into the different sectors of law that the firm seat with. I was able to gain insight into potential law modules that I might take in the future. I also gained insight into becoming a solicitor and solicitor advocate, something I was not previously as familiar with. However, I wish that other areas of dispute resolution were addressed a bit more, such as medical negligence and energy
The Company
I think the insight day was very well structured as it provided a balance of talks and lectures together with workshops and interactive sessions. There was also the chance to ask any questions we had through the day at various points. The networking session was also extremely useful to ask questions to trainees and associates in a more informal setting
It was a very clam and relaxed atmosphere. I did not feel stressed or intimidated during my time here. Everyone was also super friendly. Even during our tour of the office, the general atmosphere was rather friendly and calm. The networking session was also a more fun and relaxed atmosphere
I gained much insight into the company culture. The employees at the firm was very friendly and the trainees were very willing to answer any all questions that we had. The tour around the office allowed me to see the work culture and appreciate the lack of hierarchy within the firm.
The insight day provided us with much insight on the various opportunities available for law students In the future with the firm. I was also given information on what I can pursue after completing my law degree, such as on training contracts and the ability to become a solicitor advocate
Everything Else
The social networking event allowed me to speak to the employees in a more informal and relaxed setting. This allowed me to ask them more questions about their reasons for joining the firm and the sectors they work in. I also could ask them for their business cards to send follow up emails for any questions I may have in the future.
The firm provided us with much information about the pro bono work carried out by the firm and the various opportunities we would have to also get involved. The also told us about the firm’s culture that still allows their employees to pursue any hobbies they may have outside the firm as well
