About You
The presentations and workshops were really interesting and informative. The most enjoyable parts of the scheme were the ADR and corporate negotiation workshops.
During my time work shadowing, I helped with some of the actual work the trainee was doing and he used my research to help him complete his task.
Everyone was more than willing to ask any questions we had and there was support by the trainee when work shadowing.
We were given lists of advice on the skills needed in vacation scheme applications and what it takes to be a successful trainee.
The Company
We were given a structured timetable for what we would be doing over the two days at the firm.
Everyone was very friendly and happy to help and share their experiences.
Not only did they tell us skills we need specifically to be successful at HSF, we were able to practice them in the various workshops that we did.
There were many opportunities to speak to trainees who were very happy to tell us what they did. The time spent work shadowing involved helping to do the work of a trainee.
We got to see first hand the friendly and collaborative culture HSF has and the variety of people that work there.
The workshops and the work shadowing have helped to confirm that a career in commercial law is the path I want to take.
Everything Else
Travel expenses were reimbursed and a hotel was provided for those living outside London.
There was opportunities to speak to members of the firm at all times during the scheme.
We were able to network all the way through the scheme and during the networking social at the end of the first day.
Trainees were happy to talk about their extra curriculars and how the balance it with their work.
This has really helped me to decide a career in commercial law and shown me a variety of departments that I now know more about.
