About You
The insight scheme provided me with a deep evaluation of what it means to be a lawyer at Herbert Smith Freehills. I enjoyed the interactive nature of the day, as well as the opportunity to ask questions. I found the panel talks very interesting and I felt that they had a lot of relevant information.
I felt valued at my time at Herbert Smith Freehills. This was due to the engagement and support of both the graduate recruitment members present, as well as the supervising trainees. The constant opportunities to ask questions and network really made me feel appreciated, as well as the interactive element of the open day.
I recieved much guidance and support during the two day insight scheme. During the interactive alternate dispute resolution, and negotiation workshops, we were supervised by trainees. During the shadowing opportunity we were guided by a current trainee on the work conducted by the firm. We were also supported by the presence of graduate recruitment and members of the firm in the ability to ask questions.
I believe that the skills I have developmed, the information I recieved, will assist me in my law degree studies, and beyond to my career, to a fair extent. I believe that the information provided to me will help me in extra curricular activities; such as moots and negotation competitions. I also believe that the information will help me decide a career.
The Company
The insight day was very well structured. I think the events were engaging and interesting, and the information provided was provided was useful. I believe that the events were well timed. I think that there were enough breaks, and they were well timed to the activities and panel events provided.
The atmosphere was engaging and friendly. At no point did I feel unwelcome or alienated at Herbert Smith Freehills. There was always opportunities to ask questions and seek support and guidance. The perspectives of the attendees were asked for, and we were well catered for. The social event also added to the atmosphere.
Herbert Smith Freehills invested greatly in the attendees of the event as they held panel events informing us on relevant information that will benefit us in deciding what path we want to pursue for our later career. I also think the training in negotation competitions will help us in our later competitions and moots.
The insight scheme helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role within Herbert Smith Freehills law firm to a great extent. This was especially done so by the opportunity to shadow an exisitng trainee at the firm and see the day-to-day tasks conducted.
The two-day insight scheme helped me in the understanding of the company culture to a great extent as I was able to see how employees of the firm interacted with one another through the course of the event, as well as at the networking event. I also was able to see how important diversity was to the firm.
The content of the Herbert Smith Freehills two-day insight scheme was very valuable to me in helping me decide on my future career path as it allowed me to ask relevant questions and gain answers that will help me structure such. The information on different areas of commercial law was also very uselful.
Everything Else
There were many opportunites for networking and meeting other employees of Herbert Smith Freehills during the two-day insight scheme. This was through not only the panel discussions, which allowed us to raise questions, but also through the negotiation activites and supervising trainees. Additionally, the socials and trainee-shadowing opportunities was really informative.
The networking and social event opportunities of Herbert Smith Freehills two-day open day were excellent. Having the social event at the end of the first day allowed us to ask relevant questions to exisiting trainees in a calmer social setting away from the work place. We could also see how amicable trainees were with eachother.
