About You
The day was well planned, plenty of interesting activities and speakers. I have received the information that I wished to receive on the day. I think that both the organisers and the speakers managed to deliver a lot of information in one day. I am glad I made the effort of a long travel to make it!
There were dozens of students at this event, thus I can understand the difficulties of trying to make everybody feel welcome. Of course, at the networking workshop, one must be somewhat selfish in speaking to the guest speakers - but this was made trickier by the in-proportionate number of speakers to students.
The Company
The day was well planned out, with exciting activities and speakers planned, as well as regular intervals and chances to air questions. However, the hectic schedule was regularly altered to accommodate for things running longer than they should have, not long enough, etc. Generally however, the day was planned out given the large amount of students present.
The atmosphere was very promising and exciting, as everybody that I met was enthusiastic and switched-on in terms of careers and M&G Prudential. The mood of the speakers and employees was very encouraging and presented M&G Prudential in a very encouraging and commendable light. No student was allowed to dominate, whilst I felt thoroughly involved.
As the day was an insight day, it is hardly surprising that the company did not 'invest' in me. However, the insight in terms of the graduate scheme and internship programme was very interesting and it appears that personal training and development are very important to both M&G Prudential and their employees.
I the insight day gave me the most comprehensive of insights into what a full time role would look like in the company. The students we met, the employees we met, the graduates and everybody else provided a fantastic insight into what a full time role would look like at M&G Prudential.
The insight day has really helped me to think about my career path. I definitely have a better understanding of what I need to know before looking at the summer (8-week) internship, I think that I will apply to one of these as this is the most feasible ways of gaining a job at M&G Prudential.
Everything Else
There were many opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company, we were able to meet and speak with both current employees and graduates. This gave me invaluable answers to questions that will not be able to be found online, questions regarding day to day life, as well as travelling were answered.
