About You
I really enjoyed the insight, especially because we had the possibility to talk to really senior people that gave us so much valuable insight and actually took the time to clarify any additional questions we had.
They tried to make us feel welcomed by giving us the opportunity to talk to a lot of different people and encouraged us to be curious and asks questions.
A lot. They kept repeating our schedule, walked us through the assessment center quite a few times, just to make sure everybody was on the same page.
I think we got a good insight but it was not enough to really impact my studies or my career but it was definitely a good start.
The Company
Really well structured, we had one introduction day, one markets day and one banking day, so we learnt about the two different divisions and did a lot of case studies.
A little competitive, especially when it came to asking questions because we all knew about the assessment center on Thursday. Still, the people were super nice and it was a lot of fun.
We had one soft skills workshop, honestly, I did not really like that
Work shadowing opportunities would have been really nice, but also from asking questions you got a good understanding what it is like to work for Barclays.
A lot. You noticed how collegial, friendly and approachable everyone is. Super senior people also took the time to talk to us.
I decided that banking was the right thing for me and that I would like to pursue this career.
Everything Else
We were paid £ 250 and if we lived 1.5 hours away from Canary Wharf they paid for a hotel.
We had so so so many networking opportunities, basically all I did was networking, also with very senior employees.
Great, at lunch people from the different divisions came down and also during the case studies they sat at the tables with us and helped us out and answered any questions.
Not really, we just had one presentation on the different networks but that's it.
Absolutely, I really enjoyed the week and I learnt a lot.
