About You
It has been very informative and I feel that my knowledge on the finance industry has definitely increased by a lot after the spring week. There were many interesting programmes and speeches such as the M&A case study, which has helped to affirm my decision to join banking in future. The green finance talk has also given an insight on the steps that Barclays has taken to be more socially responsible and environmentally friendly.
I felt very valued at Barclays and could tell that Barclays puts in resources and effort to invest in young talent with potential.
I received a lot of support and guidance by the HR who were very accommodating and organised everything well. Time management was good as well.
The knowledge i have received will help me in my finance modules in university and the skills that i have improved on such as communication and presentation skills will definitely help me in my career in future.
The Company
It was very well organised, although it could have been spreaded across 5 days instead to make each day less packed with more breaks in between.
The vibes at barclays were positive and everyone is fun- loving and friendly to speak to.
They invited many speakers from different departments to share their insights on their divisions and also about their job scopes, thus providing the students with a way clearer view of what banking and markets is all about.
It has definitely given me a glimpse of what barclays is like as a bank and i have found out that the work culture in barclays is so much better than other banks, as everyone is helpful and friendly. Also, they are all very patient and willing to help you to address any questions that you may have.
Everything Else
I was paid 250 pounds.
Plenty of networking opportunities over lunch and dinner.
I had the chance to speak to senior bankers as well as junior analysts and gather different perspectives, which has definitely shaped my decision well.
